David V. Johnston, President

David Victor Johnston was born in the London borough of Hammersmith back in the spring of 1965. Soon thereafter, the Johnston family relocated to the beautiful Garden City of Letchworth in Heartfordshire, where David spent his childhood. Raised in a loving but disciplined working class home, David inherited a solid strong work ethic and more importantly, drive.

In 1987 David made a bold move to South Africa, were he was first introduced to the exciting world of auctioneering. It was in South Africa that David learnt his craft from the bottom up and upon his subsequent move to the U.S. in 1988, David started and presided over Absolute Auctions, Inc., an electronics auction company situated in Montclaire, Ca. Absolute Auctions attracted dozens of people to its weekly auctions and David run a highly successful enterprise until he set his sights on sunny South Florida, where he relocated to in 1997.

It was Fort Lauderdale that saw David start his career within a leading Real Estate company, although his skills as an auctioneer were often in demand by the top auction companies in the area. As a result, David has conducted numerous Real Estate auctions on both residential and commercial Real Estate properties including luxury homes, hotels and motels, strip malls, farm and vacant land spanning the vast regional area from Florida to New England.

However, not only has David auctioned Real Estate. He has also conducted hundreds of auctions such as estate sales, store close outs and liquidations, jewelry and loose gem stones, antiques, furniture, farm equipment, muscle cars and so much more!

David can also include in his extensive and varied resume the honor of being Principle Auctioneer for fine art and sporting memorabilia on two of the most famous cruise ships in the world: Cunard’s illustrious Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Mary 2.

Additionally, David often volunteers his time and auctioneering skills to charity organizations such as the Dan Marino Children’s Foundation, The American Cancer Society, The Ronald McDonald Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Lauderdale to name a few.

David’s many years of experience have given him the ability to conduct auctions in a professional and knowledgeable manner, enabling him to run a smooth operation always peppered with his characteristic English charm, wit and humor.

After graduating at the Florida Auction School in Ocala FL in 1997, David earned the title “Colonel”and since then has also reached another highly coveted title: that of A.A.R.E. (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate). David is also a member of the National and Florida Auctioneer associations as well as being a member of the Realtors Association of Fort Lauderdale.

David lives in Fort Lauderdale with Eva, his wife of seven years and their daughter Lucia.
